Many people are surprised to learn that nearly all motion clips produced for Lum Skop use photographic source materials. In addition to layering and compositing photographs, imagery is treated with digital tablet "painting" and digital "dark room" processes. Further motion graphics and animated work is sometimes included. The overall process is to experiment with and refine new processes. This project started as a music video. I created several dozen short animated clips and began adapting them to a musical track. After the video was complete, I found myself continuing to use the source footage for other projects in web design. It occurred to me the clips may be useful to other people as well, and I am interested in creative methods of adaptation - so I just begin giving them away.
